GYOIKHO IKADA
There is a cherry blossom called the Goeikoh zakura. Believed to have been admired since the early Edo period, this cherry blossom is said to have earned its name because its moegi-colored, yellowish-green hue resembles the attire of nobility since ancient times. This late-blooming cherry blossom can also be found in Minato Ward, Tokyo, where the artist resides. The work was created using the motif of its petals drifting along the nearby canal.
