Natural Power
Habitually, the production of the painting should be a natural expression. However, it is difficult to be natural occasionally. Excessive pursuit to natural shape sometimes becomes unnatural. And yet, the selection is repeated though puzzled to natural scenery that appears by chance.
With a neutral mind and a body, without the eager or the hollow.
I would like to face to canvas unconsciously which arose naturally.

The Exhibition of Finest Art Works From Representative Asian Artist in Hanoi - Vietnam 2019
I was born in Ota Ward, Tokyo, 1962. Since my grandfather Youshin Otsu was a chaser, I started to draw from childhood. In my twenties, I encountered the profession of painting restoration, and on the recommendation of my former teacher, got the opportunity to work at the Painting Conservation Research Institute in Nakano, Tokyo. After graduating from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts, I went to the United States as part of an overseas training program conducted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and worked as an intern at Rustin Levenson Art Conservation Associates (currently Art Care Coservation) in New York, and reserched and restored modern paintings.
After returning to Japan, I began to presentation activities centered on painting and solo exhibitions, continue to create abstract paintings inspired by nature and inspiration from Japanese gardens and tea ceremony gardens, and pursue the theme of "old beauty colors" with theme of modern Japanese that replaces ancient fusuma paintings, folding screens, and scrolls. My main theme of the production, "decorate a garden in the room" has also meening of the production of public art, which is "art for a space where people live". Therefore I am working on various artworks such as commission work for residences, hotels, hospitals, etc.

At the same time as creating artworks, I established the restoration studio "Tokyo Conservation" in Minato-ku, Tokyo, modeled on the restoration studio I spent in New York. I am working with unique staff on various painting restoration projects for art museums, museums, public facilities, corporate art, galleries, and private collectors.
